It was her voice that got him because he had been staring at the specials for a long while and hadn't even lifted his head when she spoke. Something sounded awfully familiar and he didn't want to look at her and forget what it was about her voice that got him. Thomas furrowed his dark eyebrows and continued to look down at the menu until he could stand it no longer.
He glanced up to her and really, that was his true undoing. Good god almighty. Did she understand how his heart sort of did a funny flip flop just then all because of the way she smiled? But something else deep in him felt sick at the sight of it, as if that something was somehow immune to the charm.
"Actually," he drawled. "I'm thinking that since you're the pie fairy you might bring me a slice of that apple. If it's still here of course."
