Neptune wasn't stressed out in the slightest. He was looking forward to returning to Lydia's to have dinner with her. She was beautiful, interesting, and her mother believed in Neptune. Actually, Corrine's belief helped strengthen Neptune from within. He could feel her belief fanning the flames that were his powers.
Reed felt it as well. He was a little troubled by it. What if Neptune gained enough power that he was able to dispose of Reed? Neptune picked up on this trail of thought and squashed the idea, reassuring Reed that he wasn't interested in destroying the host soul.
As a show of good faith, Neptune relinquished control of the body for the few hours they were back at the apartment, allowing Reed to change out of the suit for the time being, because it made him uncomfortable. The mortal man spent some of that downtime on the phone with his mother. It was hard not telling her about all that was happening to him. He had always been so open with her about his life, but now there was a huge part of it that he couldn't share. He did tell her that he had a 'date' tonight, because essentially, Reed did. He would be there, and he'd be involved indirectly in anything that happened with Lydia. He made it clear to Neptune that there would be no sex, no matter what Lydia wanted. Reed wasn't ready to jump into that given his current situation. Granted, he wasn't against sex on the first date. It happened sometimes, but he usually wasn't a bystander when it happened!
When the time came to return to Lydia's place, Neptune took over and changed back into the suit. He stopped by a shop on the way and got a bottle of fine wine and some more flowers. This time, he selected peonies.
Being buzzed in, he headed up and smiled when he spotted Lydia. "You look stunning," he said with a hint of awe in his voice.
