Ma'at nodded as she slid from the booth and pulled on the jacket. She hesitated long enough for him to finish what he was doing. She didn't relinquish her control of Lucia as she strode toward the door. Her vessel was already balking at returning to Thoth's home. Her wariness of strangers and introversion making it hard for her to accept that this stranger to her was someone that Ma'at had known for longer than the known Universe had existed. Lucia would have to deal with it and Ma'at could only hope that the mortal girl would play nicely with Samuel, he seemed like a genuinely nice person.
Ma'at paused on the sidewalk and looked back over her shoulder at Thoth. For everyday that she had waited and watched, everyday that she had felt loneliness and unbalanced, this made it all disappear. She had found two members of her pantheon, two who were close to her. She raised her hand and hailed a cab from the curb.
"Lucia is wary but if he has been under your direction she will like him. She is already intrigued by the work he does with his law firm and how he can help her with the abuse victims." She had waited until they were inside of the taxi to slide across the seat next to him. "You might have to convince me to let her back in control."
