Lucia was not at all happy about the label of slave, Ma'at was less than pleased about the information. "His ancestors were slaves, he would have been a slave. What is there to like or dislike about the facts?" She was frowning, Samuel'S blood would not stop her from touching or connecting with Thoth but she found it a touch distasteful.
"Patience has never been something that comes to me easily, Thoth. I want it fixed and the need to balance the chaos and bring back order is hard to ignore. You should understand that much at least." The need to set things right and she had been patient, she wasn't making rash decisions or tampering in innocent mortal's lives. She was waiting for the day when she would get a chance to see order and balance again.
"I try hard not to take her rights away, the truth is that she is very tolerable. Our souls are fairly compatible and we bonded easily." Ma'at had only taken over a few times, meeting her own needs in a rare display of selfishness and self indulgence. "I was selfish a few times. Reassure your vessel that I am not a monster or evil."
"The goddess of wisdom would understand them better, she is likely going to be much more patient with them than I am." She could only nod as he spoke about returning to their own world and making things right. Her heart was heavy, fear that they would be trapped in this world had been weighing on her for a long time. Seeing Thoth again, touching him restored some amount of faith within her that things could be put back in their proper places. "New times call for new alliances and new ways. Whatever happens at least we are not alone anymore."
She dumped the sugars and creamer into the coffee and took a drink. She looked up and watched a large group of people enter the diner. "Do you live nearby?" She asked, trying to shake off the more serious topics. He was right, there would be plenty of time for that in the future.
