He snorted at her before he shook his head a little bit. “Playing to my ego, Ma’at? You know that never works out as well as you like.” Not that it didn’t work, just not always the way she had planned. “You have not, though we do not always see eye to eye on things.” While they both strove for balance, she had always been more about justice, and he had been absolutely about balance, even at the cost of justice at times.
“I became aware in this one at a young age. I was able to nudge him into certain actions easily enough. I’m sure you would enjoy him as well, he is a crusader of a sorts, seeking to use the laws to defend the powerless. And even now he is sulking at me.” He turned his head slightly to the side at that. “Be silent, Samuel, let me enjoy my reunion in peace.” A quick shake of his head before he offered a slight grin. “My vessel is upset I usurped his control. Apparently, he needs his coffee badly.”
Another shake of his head was given. “She is not here now. But, if you see her you will recognize her. Dark skinned, young, cute. But you’ll sense her in her I’m sure. I have no doubt she would be drawn to you. But no, I have not seen the others. They might have been in some of those I have sensed that are still asleep, but I have not identified them for sure. But, this place draws us, so I am certain it is only a matter of time.”
A soft chuckle was given as he gave her hand a squeeze. “I have missed you, Ma’at. There have been none I could share with amongst those few I do know. Not even Seshet as she is still trapped, and I do not know if it would serve the balance to awaken her fully before she does so on her own.” When she slipped in next to him, he would curl his arm around her shoulder, and ignored the questions from his vessel. “I can’t begin to say how pleased I am to find you, Ma’at.” He said in a soft voice, as much so it was only for her, as to make sure nobody overheard them.
