Lucia looked up at the stranger and and gave him a vague smile. She pulled back from his touch, brushing back a lock of hair. "It's completely my fault, I was lost in my own thoughts." Or talking to an annoying goddess who insisted on a coffee shop that was halfway across the city from her apartment. Lucia frowned at the fact that Ma'at had gone perfectly quiet and was focused on something that Lucia couldn't see. It was the same thing she did when she was trying to solve problems. "Must need a cup of coffee to wake up."
Lucia made a move to enter the diner, dismissing the stranger. Wait, don't walk away yet. Keep talking to him. Lucia had to school her features not to show her disgust and annoyance but knew it was pointless to ignore the goddess. She would take over and Lucia would lose her ability to control the situation. Why did she have to pick today to want find someone interesting. Lucia wasn't in the mood for a new project or trying to fix something that only the goddess of balance would care about. With a silent sigh, she glanced back at the man and offered him a small smile. "Do you come here often? How's the coffee?" That was as much as Lucia was willing to do, she didn't talk to strangers often, especially in a place like NYC.
