It was clearly the man that had once felt he had to steal a wife that was making his way to pick up Proserpina rather then the one that portrayed confidence and arrogance. There was still an air of superiority around him, both from Pluto himself and the still lingering self-righteousness of Milo that the mortals around him would have clearly attached too. However, any god--particularly a god that knew him well--would clearly see through the facade. And yet, he did not care. He had never liked being away from his wife for half the year, but he understood the ruling that made it so; this was not that situation. He had been without her for years, eons, and having her taken from him not because of his brother's decree but because of a mortal's faux pas and control over his mind was blasphemous. Pluto had no intention of losing her when he had worked so hard to gain her. He loved her and wanted her. He wanted his life back with her. So he humbled himself enough to await her entrance and hopefully to whisk her away, first with dinner and then back home. |
