Natasha hadn’t been in New York for very long since returning from her eight-month deep cover assignment. Which was a strictly high clearance S.H.I.E.L.D. Op. So even if she had wanted to talk about it, she was legally bound not to. Which was easily a good excuse because she hadn’t wanted to talk about it. Since law for the ex-soviet spy wasn’t what held her tongue in place. She however was gearing up, to enter the fray again, with Steve in search of Bucky.
Telling Steve that she had known his old friend longer than she’d let on, was hard. For a few reasons; partly was the emotions she had attached to both men. And the distance that her job placed in her life. But again, to be honest the Black Widow took advantage of that. It was hard though since she had been informed of Steve and Sharon’s engagement. And partly the mission out of the states previously was taken on in light of everyone seeming to have a significant other. Men that she cared for, deeper than she let on. Old friends, comrades. It hurt, it even made the Russian woman deeply miss Matt.. Daredevil. So she’d done what she always did. Burry herself into work. And Furry was happy to have her so devoted to the mission.
Once Natasha finished in the locker room, the woman headed to find Steve and their ride. It was to be very low-key. Neither of the Avengers wanted those on the wrong side to catch-wind of Captain America and Black Widow going in search of the Winter Soldier. She put on a strong face, which was pretty much her resting bitch-face that always seemed to turn her features. But she couldn’t give in to feelings or emotions; it was the red room training, that never had seemed to fallen out of her mind. She was a soldier, that was what she’d always be.
