All this talk about the new laws surrounding Superheroes had most of the Country up in arms, some for and some against; And it was all just getting worse. Her Step Father and Mother were as consumed by it all as the media, it was all they conversed about and they weren't in favor of the superheroes, not at all. To them Superheroes were less than human, even though they owed their lives, homes and world to them- they were worse than insects in her care-givers eyes. Cassandra hated how they attacked her Father and his friends/colleagues- men and women who had been more like a family to her than the two who were legally related to her. After suffering through the festive holidays with them and then the civil war chaos she'd had enough; she hadn't been sure Kristoff would want to see her very often so she'd held off pestering him in person and instead been emailing and texting him.
But Today was different, Today Cassie wanted, no needed, to have one of those awesome days where she surrounded her with her favorite people. Well person, Kristoff had that Throne in Cassie's life, whether he knew it or not! She figured he'd be at the embassy so she had scavenged around through her normally very casual wardrobe to find something suitable to go into such an important place. It took a while but she was sure she scrubbed up well.
She left without a word to either her Step Father or Mother who were still in front of the television watching the latest news bulletin. As soon as she stepped out of the door it was like getting oxygen into her lungs after being underwater for too long and the pressures continued to lift as she made her way towards the Latverian Embassy. She arrived just after midday and was escorted into what seemed to be a reception area where she was asked to show identification and such. They didn't seem sure of her as they rung up to someone, she presumed it was Kristoff, explaining that there was an American Girl in their lobby requesting his company. She stood awkwardly staring at her shoes as she waited for someone to address her and either tell her to leave or proceed. She considered texting Kristoff but felt she should be respectful to his staff and let them protect or whatever it is they were doing for him. She shuffled her feet again not because she was impatient but rather that she was nervous.
