Daisy had to think about how she was going to proceed with this. It was not an easy thing. But at the end of the day, the person that Daisy cared about was Robbie. This wasn't their world and who knew what the consequences of letting the Rider loose might be. Robbie had to deal with those consequences, not Carrot Top. And even if Robbie thought he was ready for that, Daisy wasn't so sure. Killing people took an awful toll. She hadn't even killed Lincoln, not directly, and she'd carry that around with her forever. She stood up, turning her back to him so she could pace a bit. On the one hand, he had a point. She had gone after the Watchdogs with ferocity. But she hadn't killed anyone on purpose, even if she'd wanted to. Even if they wanted to see her and everyone like her erased from the face of the Earth simply for being different. After pacing a bit more, she turned and sighed. She picked up the glass of water that she hadn't finished, and sipped on it a little more before setting it down. Then she had to sit, because she was still pretty sore from the fight. "That's LA in our world, Robbie. This is not our world. There are all kinds of people here who don't, who can't understand the world we come from. Let alone Carrot Top. They're probably going to think he's a demon." And they'd try to stop him, and get hurt. Or worse. Daisy had been able to get Robbie back because she knew him. Anyone else, they wouldn't have been so lucky. And while he wouldn't have hurt anyone on purpose, that doesn't mean it wouldn't have happened. "I get it, okay? You made a deal. But given our circumstances here, you're gonna have to put that deal on hold. I don't give a damn about the Other Guy, Robbie. He doesn't have to deal with the consequences. You do. You're the one who has to deal with the aftermath of it all, and I care about you. I care about what happens to you." She was pretty passionate in saying this. She didn't want to lose anyone else she cared about or even see them hurt. And whether he liked it or not, that now included one Robbie Reyes. |
