WHO: Curtis [ROMEO], Olivia [HOTEL] & Theo [ECHO]
WHEN: September 25th, 4PM
WHERE: agent offices
WHAT: plot log~
WARNINGS: N/A
Olivia had driven like a maniac, swerved into the parking lot and tried to look casual as she walked through the Lock for her shift hours early, her takeaway coffee cup held in a vicelike grip. While not someone likely to spill secrets, her face made her something of an open book and today, after a text message, it seemed to have translated to her entire gait as she speed-walked like some sort of professional. She practically bowled through the door to one particular office like a whirlwind, kicking it closed behind her before spinning around conspiratorially, a slightly manic grin spreading across her face The dramatics, they were almost painful. “Okay people, people, I got your message,” She clapped her hands once, twice and then again, spilling coffee over her hands without even thinking. Looking expectantly at both Theo and Curtis, one at a time, she produced her phone from her pocket, wide eyed, shaking the device in her hand. Yes, she may have looked a little too excited but the mystery aspect of the secret agent mission was really starting to pluck at her. “What’s happening, what did I miss!?” “Woah,” Theo laughed, “Calm down, take a breath. Do you want something to drink?” The text he’d sent Olivia, although vague, had included several exclamation marks. Now that she was here he was going to try and hold the information for as long as possible, really make her work for it. Unfortunately for Theo, Curtis wasn’t interested in drawing out the suspense. They were here to do a job, they’d done it and the sooner they did something about what they’d discovered, the sooner he could get home to his girlfriend. Who probably wasn’t even there. Okay, maybe drawing it out wasn’t such such a bad idea. “If you’re getting something to drink, get us one too,” Curt added. “We’re the ones doing the hard work here.” The blonde woman shook her head at Theo, taking a moment to take a gulp of the remaining coffee that wasn't all over one of her hands. But as soon as it became painfully clear to Olivia that she was going to be working for the answer, she let out a whine and pouted. "We can talk about getting you two a drink when you tell me what you found." She dragged out the words like a child. "I've been working too! This is just your area. Of like, expertise and shit." She gestured at nothing in particular, but really, she just wanted to know what was going on. “Hey it’s not our fault that Techs are the best,” Theo raised his hand for a high five from Curtis, though he didn’t actually feel this way. This was indeed Theo and Curt’s “area of like expertise and shit” as Olivia had put it so poetically, and it was useful for things like coming the system for information, but he knew that all the agents worked best as a team. He glanced at Curt, “What do you think, should we tell her?” Curtis just gave Theo's raised hand a look, leaving him hanging instead of high fiving him. What were they, 15? "I still think she should get us drinks first," Curt replied, "but go ahead, tell her." Theo retracted his hand, looking slightly wounded, when it was clear that Curtis wasn’t going to reciprocate his high-five. “Okay get this,” Theo leaned forward in his chair, “So we were looking into the APEX attacks for patterns or whatever, right? And do you remember how Parker Pharmaceuticals got attacked back in July? It turns out that they have a bunch of high-priority contracts including one with the DMS.” Olivia, who had been rocking back and forth on her heels, stopped on the backswing and clattered back to a normal standing position with a little less dignity than was warranted for the situation. “Okaaaaaay.” She muttered, before taking another sip of her coffee. “The hell does the DMS want with an itty-bitty pharmaceuticals company? What does anybody want with-” She paused, cup paused at her lips again. “Well it explains why APEX went in, right?” "Question is, how did APEX know about the contract?" Curt replied. Contracts like that weren't usually public knowledge as far as he knew, and if none of them had known about it then it seemed unlikely to him that APEX would, unless they'd been doing their own investigating. "We should let Hestia know then see if we can find anymore connections." He was hoping there wouldn't be any pattern or connection with the university attack, he wasn't sure he could keep that from Rachel if there was. "And you should get us that coffee," he reminded. "Could be a long night." |
