It was true. Taj was ready to leave everyone else behind but Andy. He thought that the idea that he was the one he would never leave behind would mean something to him, on a more personal level. But, of course it was twisted into something else as usual. The other reality was, Taj had lost all of his sphinxy powers during the event Andy referred to. His emotions were on the complete spastic end of wrong and flew off the handle and reacted very impulsively under emotional distress that his beast's nature of neutrality couldn't handle. Taj simply put, wasn't being himself. He wasn't sure if Andy understood this. His own nature was being denied. He'd come to his senses, the love his own family ended up being stronger than nature itself. Andy probably didn't see that either. But, how could he? He'd been up in Adrian's wallowing away through his own despair, as impulsive as Taj had been in saying he would leave, instead of participating in the healing process.
Either way, this is where they were and Taj leaned into his hand and still the words I love you were real and that, right then, seemed to have to be enough. He smiled and tried to pull Andy down in their usual spots. Taj wanted normality. He needed it now more than ever. There were three moons worth of life in danger stress, if it even ended there he had to get through and it seemed harder to get through everyday.
