Who: Buffy Summers & Wanda Maximoff
What: Buffy and Wanda checking up on some vampire rumors.
When: About three days or so after this post.
Where: A planet called Tenebris.
Rating: PG/PG13 for now.
Status: In Progress.
Buffy's first foray into space was surreal but strangely inviting. She was told her ship was pretty basic, but it came with the droids, so that was a bonus. Of course now she had a walking talking spellcheck correcting her grammar when she mispronounced everything, as she tended to do. So whatever the protocol droid's model was no longer mattered, because Buffy had taken to calling him Clippy. The astromech, who she had no idea how to understand and doubted she ever would, was now known as Beaker. She wasn't sure which would drive her nuts first, the oh-so polite and punchable one or the one that beeped. But hey, she needed them so she would at least try not to break them as she got used to them... Though she was pretty sure Beaker was mocking everyone behind his beeps or whatever. It just had that tone to it.
Thanks to Wanda, Buffy was feeling kind of proud of herself for actually managing to dock her ship as ordered by the locals in charge of that kind of thing, all without crashing into a single thing! Though she was pretty sure she narrowly avoided colliding into a tower of some kind, but Clippy had assured her that she was at least forty meters away from it. She didn't really find that comforting, but she would consider it a success.
She was currently waiting for Wanda out on the street across from the spaceport they had docked at as she took in the city from a pedestrian view. From what Clippy had said, the planet was called Tenebris and this was the capital city known as Sanguine. Both of which sounded pretty latiny to Buffy's ears, having heard enough of it from Giles and Willow over the years. She guessed more than humans were a shared trait in the multiverse. The city itself was pretty busy, with speeders flying everywhere, and a big neon lit maglev train made its way around the city amidst the towers of the buildings. The sky was also dark, seeing how it was the equivalent of ten pm or so by Buffy's understanding. But the darkness felt heavier somehow, like there was a weight to it and all the lights in the city were the only thing keeping it from suffocating her. According to Clippy, the nights here were twice as long than what Earth had and that set off so many alarms in her it was ridiculous.
This was probably the perfect planet for vampires. No wonder there were some kind of rumors. But would they really be stupid enough to set up shop in such a blatant locale that screamed, "Hey! We're over here!!"? Probably.
She watched as other pedestrians wandered by her on the sidewalks, doing whatever it was locals did. The population seemed pretty mixed so far, a lot humans, some of the same kind of aliens she'd seen on Naboo, and in some holos, and more that she didn't recognize at all. She was probably going to regret leaving the droids on the ship, but Buffy really couldn't do any real ground work with Clippy harping over everything she said and did. Besides, it would be a lot easier to play the ditzy tourist this way if she needed to.
But Buffy wasn't helpless or alone. She was armed with her scythe, a couple of small vibroblades hidden in her coat, and a few other things hidden on her person. Now she just had to wait for Wanda and they could see if the rumors had any truth to them. If all else failed, maybe she could get some shopping in at some point. She would be more than happy to take that win at least.
