Carpentry was in his soul, if not in his know-how
Who: Alex & open
Where: camp

Alex wasn't much of a builder of any sort, but that didn't stop him from trying. He was a reasonably skilled handyman, fixing things that were broken around his parents house or with his brother, but for the big projects he left those to the professionals. The problem was, here in Wonderland, they were the professionals. And there weren't so many trees out here in the grasslands. Only small clumps of dead ones. Alex had immediately set out after his morning prayer though for one set and with a bit of work, managed to break two down and drag them back to the camp.
That, it turned out, was the easy part. Stripping the trees of their limbs and binding the long grasses together to form some sort of cording was proving to be much harder. Briefly, he wished they were back in the forest where there was more of an abundance of things to use for jobs like these. Building things. No sense in woulda-coulda-shoulda's he told himself sternly as he kept working. What he was making might not be much, at least not to everyone, but it was important to him.
