Who: The Doctor and Regina Mills Where: Just outside of The Tower When: 2/1/2013 - Later in the day, following his run in with Briseis What: The Doctor meets the once Evil Queen (should be interesting) Rating: TBD Status: In Progress
The Doctor was bored. There was no other word to describe it, he was just completely and utterly bored. Remarkably bored. Impossibly bored. That was the one word he could use to describe himself most days here. He had no job, how could he? Most jobs were boring! He had to sit at a desk, or stand in one spot, and they were often so menial. No big mysteries. There was only one truly big mystery and that was becoming more and more difficult to discern. When River's manipulator didn't work, it had taken the wind out of his sails. Sure, he needed to grab the Tesseract, but even that was a somewhat failed attempt. He needed to figure it all out, but yet his ability to get the TARDIS here was becoming more and more difficult, and it was seemingly impossible now. Without it, he wasn't sure he could fix all of this, not anytime soon at least.
So instead he had to live life normally for now, and that was just so incredibly hard to do. Time moved in the right order, and slowly, and there were no hiccups or space aliens or something trying to kill him; while most would welcome that, and he thought he would, it sure made life dull and rather less than perilous at best. Instead he concentrated on trying to be helpful, why? Because that was closer to adventuring than not being helpful. When he saw a man keep looking at his phone and cursing the network, the Doctor moved towards him and snatched his phone from him. He soniced it, and then handed it back with a smile, "Brilliant! Phone's a bit rubbish though; still, should work perfectly now. Try not to hold it to your had at 11:02 pm. Could cause headaches, not sure; never tried it at 11:02 before!"
Then turning away, he moved out of the tower and into the front of it, moving down the sidewalk, then spinning on his heels and moving down the other direction--basically ambling along. Tweed jacket, red suspenders, and a red bowtie; the Doctor was dressed for adventure in his mind, but there was none to be had. So he spun and moved to the nearest man, staring into his eyes, "What have you seen? What do you know? Anything exciting in your life going on? Do you hear voices at night... no, you're just a regular man. Brilliant then! Off you go."
He patted his cheek, before then turning away with a frown; he was looking for any sort of sign of trouble. Something that threatened the world, which he was sure might just pop up somewhere on this street at any time. So he stopped, stared, and waited. Looked to his watch, nothing. Petted a dog, nothing. Finally he just leaned his head back with a sigh, "Oh this world is so boring!"
He then gestured to a woman staring at him, "Oi! Stop staring you lot, you're all safe and sound and it's really quite boring. Go do something exciting!"
Then he heard 'DOCTOR! DOCTOR!' and he grew excited. Quickly he spun to the sound and ran towards it to help, only to find it was a child running up to him. With a pen and paper in hand. The Doctor blinked and he frowned, "What? Oh right, Doctor Who. Just call me the Doctor really, but right autograph." He grabbed the pen and signed it in Gallifreyan, before sending the boy off. He sighed, this was killing him.
