He would have headed over to Potts Tower the second that he got Steve's text, but he had some important business to take care of first. He made stickers. Mostly, it was to lighten the mood. He assumed that Steve was less than enthusiastic about being jerked around Potts Tower (he knew he would be) and he hoped that bringing a bit of humour into a frustrating situation. It was funny, really, now that he was thinking about it. The tesseract had done so many impossible and improbably things since it started acting up that breaking and redefining the laws of physics didn't seem all that strange anymore. Stark had spent half a week in his father's body, he'd seen all sorts of things that in hindsight were a lot stranger than alien invasions and it left him worried. Terrified. The Celestials made him feel powerless in a way that he hadn't before. The idea that there was something that could destroy the world without his being able to do something about it was shattering. He'd done so much to try and protect the things he cared about the most, he'd kept the Avengers running when SHIELD fell to support that goal. But with monsters being yanked through from other universes and all-powerful beings granting powers and threatening destruction, he was scared that when the shit really hit the fan, his team and his resources would be useless. But, there was really no point getting lost in those kinds of thoughts. Especially not now when he was carrying two stickers and trying to get to the first floor of Potts Tower without opening any doors. It took him a little time, and a few wrong turns, before he finally caught up with Rogers. He greeted him by slapping Steve's sticker to his shirt over the right-side of his chest. |
