Although he'd been hopeful that she'd be excited, the look on her face easily exceeded his expectations. Her exuberance was infectious, and Jack knew instantly that he'd made the right decision.
He wished he could have captured the moment their snowflakes became one on camera and hold onto that memory forever. As the snow fell on them, he tipped his face up towards the sky and closed his eyes, letting the snowflakes land gently all around them. There was nothing quite like making something beautiful out of thin air, or bringing joy to another person. That was what he lived for. That was what he'd been made to do. It'd just taken him a long time to figure it out.
"I'm not from your world," he admitted with a heavy sigh, "but I wish I was." He genuinely did, if only so she'd have someone else there to help her out. "There's no one else like me in my world either."
