Who: Hazel and Lucy When: Thursday January 10 Where: Out and about What: Shopping for food Rating: G
Hazel had been looking forward to this outing even though he didn't say so to Fiver. His brother was still very anxious about the man world they had found themselves in and he didn't want to make it any worse. When it came time for him to meet Lucy, Hazel had suggested that Fiver take a nap and that by the time he returned, he would be back. His brother had agreed and once Fiver was sleeping, Hazel had left and found his way downstairs to the big open space that he had been told was called a "lobby."
The names for things still escaped him more often than not but Hazel felt he was getting a little better at it. There were many things that were close enough to what he was used to living outdoors that he often just called objects that but put the word "man" in front of it. If they were going to stay here for any length of time though and it was beginning to seem as if they were, he would have to stop sounding so awkward when he spoke. Perhaps spending time with a human would help him, he thought as he looked around and finally saw Lucy standing near the door.
Walking upright still felt strange to him and Hazel half walked, half hopped so that it appeared that he was limping over to Lucy. "Hello," he said to her and smiled. "I am Hazel. You must be Lucy."
