It was never going to stop being weird the way everyone from Gotham was either from different times or from completely different realities. Dick was from way before she was Batgirl. Babs and Helena weren't her Babs and Helena. There were apparently two different Karas who weren't her best friend. There were two Clarks who were both so young it hurt her brain. It was basically a mess. While Jason wasn't the Jason from her reality either, she'd never really known him so it didn't bother her as much. Besides, she liked him. He was funny. He didn't talk down to her. He actually got where she was coming from on most things. And he was cute. What? She was a college-aged girl. She was allowed to be shallow sometimes. Still, the main thing she liked was that he didn't try to keep her out of the vigilante life, like everyone else had at one time or another. Heading down to the basement to meet him for a sparring session, she just hoped she was good enough that he didn't end up changing his mind on that. It wasn't that she wasn't confident in her skills or anything like that, she just didn't want to give him any reason to think she was helpless or in need of protecting. She definitely wasn't. She got there before him and set to stretching, because it had been a while since she'd had a good reason to spar. She'd trained, of course, but sparring was different. She'd left off her Batgirl uniform, not wanting to draw too much attention to herself, and was instead wearing a violent tank top and black workout pans. When Jason came in, she jumped to her feet, shooting him a grin. "Ready to get beat by a girl?" she asked, though she was mostly teasing. Even if he beat her, she had every intention of making him work for it. |
