Who: Sam Winchester + Pamela Barnes What: awkward reunion When: Wednesday evening Where: SHIELD HQ -> tower Warnings: well. mentions of blood and demonic powers and stuff, possibly.
Of all the people Sam had expected to come out of the tesseract, he had to admit that Pamela wasn't on the list. Not because she didn't deserve the second chance of this universe-- she, like many other people he and Dean had run into, had been hurt and killed as a result of hanging around with them and getting involved in their mess. But they also weren't terribly close, and yet she knew him too well in some ways, which made his mind veer away from her a little bit, avoiding the guilt and shame of memories that were uncomfortably recent.
Sometimes the year of working with Ruby, using his abilities, felt like years and years ago. But seeing Pamela again made him realize that it really hadn't been so long ago, after all. Emotionally he'd covered a lot of ground, come a long way; in terms of his timeline, the path was a lot shorter.
He mulled that over, staring out at the snow from the warm seat in the back of the taxi as it headed towards the SHIELD headquarters. He had a lot on his mind in regards to SHIELD, too, but some things were still happening in something akin to a normal manner-- people arriving through the tesseract, for instance. If SHIELD had changed things around in regard to that, it wasn't obvious from where he was standing.
When they arrived, he handed the driver an extra tip and asked him to wait, then got out, heading into the building. It didn't take him long to spot her, alive and whole, unlike the last time he'd seen her. Swallowing, he headed over, mustering a smile. "Hey. I brought an extra coat, if you want it. It's cold out." He paused, offering the coat. "And the taxi's waiting outside."
