WHO: Chloe Frazer (open to anyone) WHERE: Thirteenth Flor WHEN: Evening, January 1st WHAT: Chloe attempts to play Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. RATING: Low
Chloe had spent New Year's Eve in her room with a bottle of wine and a book. It was wholly uneventful for her by all standards, but she was treating this whole refugee thing as a vacation. Which was working out for her pretty well so far. She had mingled a bit and did her share of investigating some television shows and movies of the people who were here already, and basically just gathering some more information. Of course that had led her to go out and buy the Uncharted comic books, and the second game which she was in. The comics were easy to get through, with help of that bottle of wine, and left her nostalgic and confident that she could make it through the video game. Which was how she had found herself on the thirteenth floor, sitting on the floor indian style in front of a rather large flat screen tv that had a Playstation 3.
For about twenty minutes all she did was watch the Start screen, listening to the soundtrack. Which was actually rather enjoyable in her opinion -- but she wasn't sure if that made her biased or not. It was quite the internal debate on whether or not to play, to find out what happened at Shambhala before she was brought here. Chloe could have read everything online if she had truly wanted, but she was also curious about just how much these video games showed of her life. It had taken a couple days to even open the game itself, but she had finally sat down and made an effort to work up the courage to actually play. Nevermind the fact that she hadn't played a video game since she was little. It wasn't that hard, right? Press a few buttons, make people move and shoot. She'd be fine...
And then the game opened with Nate on the train Harry had stranded him on after shooting him.
At that particular time, Chloe had been forced to leave with Harry, unaware of just exactly what Nate had had to go through in order to catch up with them at the monastery. She managed to make it exactly one minute into the game's introduction before it was too much. "Oh my God!" she gasped in shock, letting the controller drop as she covered her mouth, watching Nate fall. Logically, she knew Nate made it, and that he was half monkey with the way he climbed, but it was just knowing that he had gone through all of this. In a way Chloe gained a whole new level of respect and secret admiration for him -- but she also couldn't help but think how ridiculously foolish he was for being so reckless. "Screw this," she muttered. Grabbing the game controller she held down the Playstation logo button to start over. She tossed the controller out of reach so it was less tempting and sighed heavily in frustration.
