Who: Ellie Shaw and Charlie Holloway
Where: Charlie's Room (611)
When: Just after he arrives
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Since arriving here, Ellie had kept to herself a lot though she had talked to a few people as well as signing up to offer her services as a teacher of the four subjects she had doctorates in back home. She had figured it would be good to put her skills to use and it would give her something to do, keep her distracted. While this Earth was fairly similar to hers they definitely weren't as advanced as the one she was used too and well she had missed Charlie. Sure they hadn't originally started out as friends, far from it but she did love him now. A part of her hoped he would have arrived though she hadn't wanted him stuck here either - though from what she had gathered she hadn't left her world just copied to this one which was reassuring, he still had her with him. Seeing him post on the network though, made her realize just how happy she was to have him here, even if it meant he was stuck too (she wasn't sure what she made of the promises that they were working on a way to send them home. SHIELD was the best minds out there after all, surely they would have managed by now if they truly could).

Logging off the computer, she made her way through the streets of New York, only getting slightly lost thankfully. That had to be one of the good things about living in a such a tall building - it was easy to spot and therefore easy to orientate yourself too. Finally she arrived and made her way up to the sixth floor and to Charlie's room. Wiping her hands on her pants, she knocked on the door and waited. A part of her had considered just entering but she figured to be safe and knocked instead.

While Charlie had tried to keep his mind off of what had happened to him, having so much idle time hadn't helped. After he'd been sent to his assigned apartment-- which was small and clean, not quite homey feeling, but not sterile, either-- he'd been able to better process exactly what had happened. Despite the fact that he'd just been with Ellie earlier in the day, doing the research that they'd worked on for years, she'd shown up in New York days before him. There were people here who'd been pulled from several other universes, and the only information he'd been able to find about Weyland Corp. brought him back to a movie called Prometheus.

It was too much to think about, especially for somebody who'd woken up that morning sure that he was hallucinating. So, Charlie had taken to bed, which he wasn't quite yet calling his own, and had decided to figure out the best way to get in touch with Ellie. Lucky for him, that was easy enough to do.

Charlie hesitated for a moment when he heard the knock at the door. If it wasn't Ellie, he wasn't sure what he'd do, aside from ignore the visitor. So he approached the door as quietly as possible to look through the peephole. Once Charlie realized that it was Ellie on the other side, he couldn't get the door open fast enough.

"Ellie, this fucking place is absolutely insane," Charlie breathed out as he opened the door for her. He'd been poked and prodded upon arrival, and he couldn't shake the feeling that Weyland was somehow responsible for all of this, but having Ellie made him feel much more like himself. "Are you alright?"

Ellie felt so much happier seeing Charlie around. She had missed him she knew that but seeing him made her realize she had missed him more than she had dared to think. Then again she had tried to distract herself from thinking about him, thinking about everything that they would be discovering on the planet. She did hope they did find what they had come all that way for. She also had read enough to know that she was still there, which was something of a relief to her.

She couldn't help but laugh at Charlie's description, partly out of just how ridiculous the whole situation was, how relieved she was and far to many other things that made it burst out. "That is one way of putting it," she replied moving in to hug him. "I'm alright as can be. I'm so glad to see you again. Even if it does mean you're stuck here too."

Charlie hugged Ellie close, his arms wrapping snug around her shoulders as he leaned down to drop a kiss to the top of her head. He'd gotten sidetracked by the robot (Charlie refused to think of his as David), then by being transported to another reality and the sickness the travel had caused, but he distinctly remembered planning to celebrate the success of the mission with Ellie the last time that he saw her. Even if it had only been a few hours, with what he'd been through, it felt like they'd been separated for ages. "I'd even had a celebration planned for the two of us tonight, but I guess all that's down the drain now," he said.

"Just think of it as another part of the journey," Charlie replied with a shrug. He couldn't think about how everything they'd worked toward had practically gone down the drain thanks to some sort of technological fluke that took place in another dimension. The idea of it still made his head spin, and he was still feeling sort of nauseous. "Ellie? How long have you been here?" Charlie asked, pulling away from her to get a good look at her. She still looked the way that she had the last time he'd seen her, just no spacesuit.

"Oh?" she asked smiling cheekily up at him, not stepping out of his embrace. It was warm and it felt safe. She felt at peace standing there, her head resting against his chest. Standing there, she could almost think they were back home - she would have said the ship but this was nothing like it. Still she was as content as she had been since arriving and that was the main thing.

"Not that long, especially compared to others. Only a couple of weeks, others have been here for months," she told him. It could definitely have been worse, she was grateful for that at the very least. "Definitely an interesting part of the journey and unexpected," she said with a laugh. "I mean we travelled to another planet but another dimension didn't even enter my head."

"What? Does that surprise you?" Charlie asked, arching a brow in response. "I can be romantic when I want to be, you know," he added, giving her a quick squeeze. He distinctly remembered going through hell trying to get a single red rose onto the ship, then taking all of the proper measures to keep it alive while they were in stasis, but it seemed now that it was all for nothing. "Especially when it involves discoveries that rewrite everything we've ever thought about the origins of life," Charlie added for good measure. Sure, their theories had always been a bit eccentric, but that just made them exciting. Besides, being transported to a totally different universe where superheroes actually existed opened up the possibility for a lot of things they'd all thought were impossible.

"A couple of weeks?" Charlie asked, truly surprised. He'd just seen her earlier that morning-- it only made him wonder if she'd been pulled at the same point in time that he had been. He filed those thoughts away for later exploration. Charlie felt that he'd probably need a bit of paper to sketch out a timeline, and he'd do that only so he could try to make some better sense of it in his head. "Interesting, yes," he agreed. Charlie took a step back and grabbed Ellie's hand so he could lead her further into the apartment he'd been assigned. "So, tell me everything you've learned about this version of 2012." He'd start his own exploration tomorrow, but for now he was excited to hear everything she'd discovered herself.

"Not at all," she told him. "Just curious as to what," she said with a smirk. "I'm sure it would have been absolutely wonderful. We'll just have to do something here instead," she said as she followed him into the apartment.

"Yeah, it's been interesting to say the least. I mean its not every day you get pulled to another reality with others who claim to all be from movies and the like. Though that is what we're told and some definitely are but who is to say we all are," she said with a shrug. She had heard of a movie with her staring in it but she hadn't looked too much into it. Not then anyway, she might further down the track ut she wasn't sure. "It doesn't seem all that different to ours. At least at the basic level. Of course there's this SHIELD and all the super heroes. If it wasn't for all of that it could be ours. They've got some basic space exploration, nothing on terms of the ships we have in our time but it does exist."
