As most of you know, I've spent the past few months here rather attempting to catch myself up on all of the remarkable scientific innovations of the past fifty years particularly in the realm of genetics, which I could not have done without the assistance of Jean (thank you by the way). However, as a sort of practical exercise in understanding modern genetics, I took my X-gene and inserted it into a zebrafish. While it is difficult to assess precisely how well the mutation translated into a piscine model, the preliminary results are promising.
I am hoping this fish will serve as a platform for investigating a cure mutation.
