Network Post
I've been here long enough now that I should start thinking about a job. I've never really had one before because while there was a salary involved with being a member of the Imperial Senate, it's not the kind of thing you can list as experience when you're looking for work. I'm considering SHIELD, maybe some of my experience with the Rebellion might be of use to them. I have no idea but the only way to find out is to ask.

Besides that I've been trying to spend time with those I know that are here. I miss Han. Luke and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Sunday and saw a lot of very interesting things. I was fascinated by the Egyptian mummies but Luke wasn't quite as impressed. He thought they were strange.

Would you like to have lunch or dinner with me? Whichever is easiest for you. We haven't had much of a chance to talk and I'd really like to get to know you.

Can't hurt to try. I've debated it a few times but never been a huge fan of working for governments, even if it'd be a good use of my abilities.

Mom:
I'd be happy to, but there's something you need to know first.

I've decided to give it a try. I don't really know what else to do.

Jaina
Okay. What is it?

Took me a while too, I ended up going the mechanical route rather than the Jedi route. Thanks for those skills, dad.

Mom:
I have a twin brother. His name is Jacen. There's a lot more there, but I'm not sure how much you'll want to hear of it.

I'm afraid that I've spent too many years doing things involving politics and government to do anything else.

Jaina
A twin? I guess that would make sense. That I would have had twins I mean. Jacen. Has he been here? You are right about me not being sure how much I want to know just yet.

Oh, I know. It's a constant battle between us back home.

Mom:
And there's Ana I was born five minutes before him, and we're fraternal like you and Uncle Luke.

He's here now. He arrived tonight, though I haven't seen him yet - I just felt him through the Force.

I can imagine that it would be.

Jaina
So you're the older. I'm told that Luke was born first in our case.

He is? I'm still learning about the Force, I didn't even know some of the things I'd sensed in the past were part of that.

I'm the older and I try not to let him forget it.

I can help you with that, if you want? Jacen is better with the Force but I don't think it's a good idea for But it's a little different with Jacen and me, we have a telepathic connection. It's a little more than what most Jedi experience.

Now you sound like me. Because I would be the same way.

I would like that a lot. Obi-Wan has helped me a little bit. He tells me that Luke and I have a similar connection but since we weren't raised together it will take some time to develop.

Older and obviously wiser.

You two do, it's not as strong as ours but you will at least build up to the point of being able to feel him when he's particularly emotional, and you'll be able to reach out to him in the Force. Is it just a vague feeling of awareness at the moment?

It is. I can tell when he's near but he has to be fairly close for me to feel it. I'm not sure what it's like for him, I haven't asked him. But yes awareness is a good term for it.

That's how it is for us when we're across the galaxy. I haven't been able to feel anything since arriving here, until now, which had me a bit.. I don't know? Out of sorts? Like something important was missing.

Positive. He reached out to me immediately, looking for me. He's still in processing so I'm not sure if I'll have time to tell him you're here before he ends up in the tower.

I'd like to meet him when he's ready. I wouldn't want to throw too much at him at once. I remember how strange my first few days were.

Why isn't it? I mean it technically counts as infiltration if I remember correctly.

Seems about right to me. Pretending one thing and doing actually another. Plus diplomatic skills.

From my research online anything can be twisted to sound great on a job application here.

My previous responsibilities with the Empire were pertinent when I joined SHIELD. In some ways SHIELD may be the easiest of the lot as they're most likely to take your credentials from home at face value. However, it's been my understanding that they have people who can help with the process if you chose not to go the SHIELD route.

I sent them my information so I suppose I'll just wait and see what they say. I thought they might be the easiest to deal with based on what I did back home.

Based on what I know I think they'll be interested. You've got a number of skills that could be useful for SHIELD - diplomacy, political knowledge, and of course all of the skills you used with the rebellion.

THEY ARE STRANGE.

You should work or teach politics or something. I know there's at least two others. Perhaps a go between us and people? I don't know. You'd be awesome at anything you do.

No they are not strange. They are fascinating. The whole thing about how the ancient Egyptians buried their dead for the trip to the afterlife? Besides we didn't even know there was such a thing as ancient Egypt before now!

I sent SHIELD my information. They appear to do a lot of covert things from what I can gather. You know I love that stuff.

Are too! I didn't say they weren't fascinating just that they were strange. They're DEAD BODIES. Isn't that creepy?

I hope you get it!

You definitely should. You'll probably need at least another couple of full day visits if you want to see everything. Or maybe that was just me.
