I've been exploring the city, taking some time to get my head on straight. Washington Square Park, the Underground -- which I believe is called the Subway, here -- and I spent an entire afternoon in a bookstore on Broadway and 12th called The Strand, specializing in used, rare and out-of-print books. It reminds me a lot of London, all in all. Not that I understand how there got to be a coffee shop called Starbucks on every other corner when they sell burnt coffee for three dollars a cup. Just excuse old grandpa Remus as he reminisces about the good old days when you could get a decent cup of coffee for under two Sickles. Thick as molasses and strong enough to put hair on your chest, that's what my father used to say. Not that I ever needed help in that department.
In a world of three dollar coffee, I think it may be time to look for a job. Also familiar. Does anyone remember what I did last time I was here? I'm pretty handy with odd jobs. And teaching, apparently. FILTERED TO SIRIUS I had a chat with James. I'd like to talk. Can we talk?
