Jeremy liked to think that since their time together in New York Jeremy was making strides towards making up for what had happened in their past. He had never stopped loving Bonnie. Not for a second and he hated himself for what he put her through. So, it was nice that he was getting to spend so much time with Bonnie lately. They even called it a date a few times, but Jeremy had been very careful about letting Bonnie set the tone. He didn't want to overstep her boundaries and have her take off running in the opposite direction again. He was okay with taking it slow. Bonnie was worth the wait. Something had been nagging at the back of Jeremy's mind for about a week though. He wasn't able to put his finger on what exactly Bonnie was doing that was making him question her, but the feeling that something was wrong wouldn't leave him. He had been struggling internally about whether or not he should bring it up with her for fear that it might have been something he'd done to upset her, but as they sat there on Bonnie's couch Jeremy wasn't sure he could keep quiet about it anymore. "Hey, can I ask you something?" he asked. "You know, besides asking you if I can ask you a question." He grinned at his lame joke and then gave a little apologetic shrug. He had been so serious back home before New York. It was nice to laugh again. |
