After some research on the computer about how muggles in this strange new place traveled, and some research on coffee places and clothing shops around the city, Lavender made a plan to go out. She wanted to explore her new surroundings. If she was going to be stuck here she definitely wanted to know what the hell she was doing. She showered and placed the clothes back on she arrived in (a pair of black dress pants, purple sparkly top, and black heels) and then headed down the lift and got off at the ground floor. She was on the 25th floor so the ride seemed to take forever. Lavender walked outside and made her way toward a crowd of people she saw alongside the building. All of a sudden she heard some young girls screaming, saw people pointing, and then people rushing toward her. She thought she heard something about a Taylor or whatever, but looked around and saw no tailor shops. She shook her head and then raised her arm to hail a cab. Immediately, 4 of them stopped for her. "Well that was easy," she mumbled to herself as she got into the cab closest to her and shut the door just as the group of people were about to reach her. "I'd like to go to 224 West 20th Street," she told the driver in the front. "Are people usually this excited?" She asked as she looked out the cab window and saw quite a few people waving and smiling at her. "Swift?" the cabbie asked and Lavender nodded. "Yes, swift, quickly." He gave her an odd look and then began driving toward the destination. When the car stopped Lavender paid the man with the plastic card she had been given and quickly got out. She walked into the café and got into the line that was forming at the front of the place, when it happened again. People started squealing and heading toward her. "Can I have your autograph?" one shouted. "I'm a huge fan!" another one said. Lavender looked at them queerly for a moment and then came to a realization. They all must be fans of the books and movies she was from. She must be a pretty important witch in the stories. She'd have to remember to pick them up today while she was shopping. She did her best to ignore the crowd. All she wanted was her coffee. When it came time for her to order she stood there and stated, "one coffee please!" "What kind?" Lavender looked at the man behind the counter. "Uhh. The kind you drink?" |
