Who: Cade & Terry
When: 25 November, evening
What: Cade's hoping for forgiveness
Where: that room
Rating: PG-13
Status: threading

Things had been complicated since Hogsmeade. Terry was angry, and Cade still wasn't fully sure he understood exactly why. But it made him ache with frustration, that they talked, but hadn't really touched since then. Cade had sent small gifts over the weeks, subtly courting him. And while he hadn't managed to quite become publicly friends with Terry, he had tried to move in closer circles, to the point where he'd sat near where Terry watched the game earlier.

He looked forward to the weekend nights, though, when they could meet in that one room. He nudged the door open, slipped in, and closed it behind him.

Who: Cade, Terry, Daniel
When: 9 November, 1995
Where: Hogsmeade
What: Cade's arranged a meeting with Daniel
Rating: PG-13 if Cade's language gets out of control
Status: threading

Cade had made arrangements for a room upstairs at the inn, claiming a business meeting and paying out of his dwindling funds to ensure privacy about who he was meeting. He climbed the stairs, making sure to get there early after having spent the morning with his mates. Once in the room, he spent a little time making sure there were privacy charms in place, so no one could eavesdrop unwittingly if voices were raised. He had no idea how this was going to go, and it frankly terrified him. He hoped Terry's father came. If not, they could enjoy the room anyway, but he didn't want to get caught with his trousers down.

For the moment, he sank down onto the bed, elbows on his knees, head in his hands as he tried to breathe easily and relax. When he heard footsteps on the stairs, his head shot up just as the door pushed open, uncertain whether he'd see his boyfriend or an unknown man he suspected was going to hate him.

Owl to Mr. Boot

[info]warinside
[info]thedogdays
[The note is unsigned.]

Mr. Boot,

It is Hogsmeade weekend coming up in a few days, and I believe your son would like it if you might join us him there. I could arrange to make sure he meets you, if you would like to surprise him.

If you send a reply with this owl, it will get to me.

Who: Annie and Cade
When: 31 October, Halloween
Where: the Great Hall, early, during the party
What: bffs hanging out :)
Rating: PG
Status: threading!

Cade hadn't explained the reason behind his costume when he'd told Annie that he was going as Lancelot. He had a feeling it'd look absolutely pitiful to explain that it had to do with his ex-boyfriend. But once they got to the party, it didn't stop him from looking around for a King Arthur, frowning when he didn't see him.

"Do you have plans for tonight, other than watching me sulk?" Cade asked, his voice teasing Annie. "I won't get into any fights."

Who: Cade Warrington & Gregory Goyle
When: Wednesday, 22 October
Where: an unused classroom
What: fight club, sort of, only without the rest of the club
Rating: PG-13 for violence
Status: threading

When Goyle had met up with him after dinner, Cade had found a room quickly and hadn't really bothered with preliminaries. He'd shucked the robes and his tie, leaving him in the dress trousers and button down shirt, had rolled up his sleeves, and gotten straight to lessons.

A few rounds of simple sparring first to warm up, both taking hits and dealing out punches that might've been a bit stronger than usual, then he dropped back and put space between them. Still standing in a crouch, at the ready, he asked Goyle, "Which do you want to focus on, your defense or your offense?"

Who: Cade and Lavender
When: 10 October, after dinner
Where: walking?
What: conversations about what it's like to be a pureblood :)
Rating: PG?
Status: threading, incomplete

Cade had received the owl during dinner, the thick envelope dropped next to his plate, the return address obvious enough to make him grin. Most owls he received were either from Dominique, or from his sister Sarah, with a few rare owls from his elder sisters as well. This one happened to be from Sarah, with a postmark in France that likely meant she was spending time with Dominique, and that alone pleased Cade.

He was to meet Lavender after dinner for one of their dates: a walk outside in the crisp fall air, some quiet snogging where they could find some privacy. They had fallen into a routine, and that suited Cade just fine. He knew where he stood with her. He showed up to walk with her between classes, they'd spent Hogsmeade together, he bought her gifts, and they had what were the best he could do for dates at Hogwarts. And she hadn't asked for any more than he could give, which was quite possibly the best part of all.

Still, it looked like she was still talking to one of her friends as dinner finished, so Cade walked over to the doorway and leaned there against the wall as he ripped open the envelope. He was curious to see how both his sister and his step-mother were doing, and figured he could read at least some of the letter while waiting for his girlfriend. A small smile tilted his lips as he read what Sarah had written.

owl post for Terry Boot

[info]warinside
[info]thedogdays
A package is delivered to Terry as late owl post during dinner. There is no note to identify the sender.

The package contains three books: a series of essays on the rise of the Secrecy act, a historical investigation into Wizards in the Elizabethan court, and "Ill Met by Moonlight," a fictional telling of the friendship/relationship between the wizard Kit Marlowe and Muggle William Shakespeare.

There is a bookmark in the fictional book, painted with the design of an eagle's feather.

Who: Annie & Cade
When: 29 September, just after classes
Where: around and about, quiet spaces
What: Cade needs a sounding board and Annie is his Annie!
Rating: PG-13 for language?
Status: threading, incomplete

Cade was getting tired of feeling constantly on edge. Life had become even more of a balancing act as before, trying to court Lavender, trying to make sure Lavender didn't find out about Terry, trying to make sure Terry was happy and still meeting him on Saturdays despite Lavender, wondering what Trish was thinking when they hadn't spoken since the weekend... not to mention everything outside the walls of Hogwarts and worrying about the Warrington estate being empty save for house elves.

Still, seeing Annie brought a fond smile to his expression, and he easily tucked her hand in the crook of his arm, waving off his mates so he and Annie could walk alone.

The best part of seeing Annie was that she was Annie. He didn't have to put on any particular face for her, he didn't have to behave in a particular way. He could stop worrying about what other people saw of him and just be.

Who: Cade & Terry
When: Saturday, 24 September, after dinner
Where: that abandoned room
What: oh this one could get complicated
Rating: PG-13 for language at least, I suspect, TBD otherwise
Status: incomplete

For once, Cade didn't take his time after dinner. He muttered something to his mates about needing to get more salve, figuring those who knew how hard he'd worked at fight club the night before wouldn't blink about it, grabbed what he did have, and headed straight for the room where he'd been meeting Terry. Once there, he made quick work of making the room itself somewhat comfortable before he stripped off his shirt and tossed it aside.

He hadn't been joking about needing a bit of healing. He hadn't held back, trying to work out his frustrations in both hitting and being hit, and this time it still hadn't quite filled the need or made his skin stop itching. But it had resulted in deep bruising across his ribs, and a thick bruise on his back that he hadn't been able to reach either with salve or a spell. He tuned out the rest of the world as he rubbed the salve along the line of his ribcage at the front, feeling the tingling sensation that came before the blessed numbing would, and hoping the numbing would come quickly along behind it.
