Time moves so strangely here. I keep almost saying I just got here, but in like two months it'll be a year.

I haven't traveled (to other countries OR worlds) nearly as much as I expected to when I showed up, but I hear that if patterns continue that might change soon.

Is it too slow or too fast?

Definitely too fast. Faster than it feels like.

And somehow at the same time it does feel like I've been here almost a year.

Days seem to race by one moment, and crawl exceedingly to a halt the next. It usually coincides with how busy one is.

How busy, or how much fun you're having. I was busy for a while until I graduated, and then I was on a road trip and time flew by just as much even when I wasn't busy because it was fun.

How much you're not looking at the clock.

Fair point.

In school and at work I looked at the clock a fair amount. Those were usually the longest parts of my day.

Anticipation is a slower of time, but lying in constant wait is the killer of time.

Is that like a quote from some old guy or did you come up with it yourself?

I am unaware if that is a quote of an elderly gentlemen or not. It is possible I have heard something like it.

It just sounded kinda like something some old guyentleman would say, but I like it a lot better coming from you.

I daresay I must reevaluate my speech to accommodate the future.

There's nothing wrong with old sayings. Only that they only seem to be from men. That's why it's better from you.

I feel the same, but I do believe what Earthens consider a year, in Altea, they are shorter in time. I've also lived for several hundreds of Earthen years anyway.

I bet it's even more confusing when time is actually different. I don't think it's actually moving differently for me, it just feels different.

I have spent most of my life in space and going from planet to planet. They all have different time periods. Other than my own home planet, I've never spent this long on one before. I do understand your point though.

Were you here when we were in the airship?

At least you're kinda used to it, then.

Yeah, I arrived on the airship. It was pretty wild.

Mostly. I still have experienced the most strangest things on this world.

There were more worlds before that we all traveled to! Some were interested, some were a bit horrifying.

That's actually kinda impressive. For this world/the portal, I mean.

I've heard about some of them. Mostly the ones Gansey was here for. How long have you been here?

If you think about it, this world has taken us to other people's worlds!

A little over two Earthen years at this point. I'm surprised its been this long as well.

That's true, although Harry Potter world was NOT what I expected.

All my friends have been here longer than me. I guess it's not something I'll catch up on.

It's way different. That was like... Harry Potter theme park, but way more realistic than the actual park.

I have yet to visit the theme park in this world, honestly.

So I have at least six months more to say I've just got here?

I think it depends on how long it still feels like you've only just got here, but yeah.

It's a jarring transition. It certainly doesn't feel normal yet.

It'll eventually get to the point of being weirdly normal and also not normal at the same time.

If it ever gets more normal than that, I'll let you know, but I haven't gotten there yet.

More than that would be quite something. I'm not sure I'd want it to get more normal than that.

I'm not sure I would, either. If nothing else, I'll miss my family for however long they're not here.

We're changing that first one on our own. And I do believe it's likely to change soon. I've lived through two of these cycles. It's amazing you've been here so long!

Admittedly, it's taken me less long to travel in this world than it did in the old one.

You've still been here longer, but yeah, it's kind of amazing, isn't it?

Do you mean we travel faster or you started traveling sooner upon arrival than growing up in our world?

Nothing to do about that. It's incredible. It doesn't feel that long to me either.

I meant the second one, but I guess also the first.

Does it ever feel more normal? Asking for a friend.

They both work for you. Other than the cruises, one of which came within a couple weeks of my arrival, I took more time to start exploring.

Perhaps for brief moments. But outside them, no.

Sounds about right.

They do, with some variation in starting date. My first year, by now we were on a cruise. And last year that was April. It's a spread.

Thankfully they are not all strange bad. It's extraordinary in all sorts of ways.
