So not that I'm concerned that the hotel will come back, but just in case the hotel does come back, who here is familiar with demolitions? A lot of people have left, including one very beautiful, very angry looking construction worker named Frank Castle. And yes I'm well aware he was more than just a construction worker.

Demolitions? Anyone? Just for my personal edification.

Aren't you a magician?

You've never not had access to your magic, have you? That must be nice.

There have been some shenanigans the portal has pulled, but in general, no. I suppose considering our location having a Muggle back-up is wise.

Always, always have a muggle back-up. Generally in the form of friendships is best. If not friendships than in bribery and exchanging favors. Always have something worth trading, even if it's just knowledge, but generally something physical is better.

You have a stronger opinion of Muggles than I do. I suppose I can agree with that in this particular situation, although I have not particularly found it that necessary at home.

The hotel portal does not give a fuck what you found necessary at home. It clearly loves throwing new situations at us, so you might want to put five minutes of thought at least toward what you would do in a worst case scenario.

In my experience, it's usually difficult to prepare for a worst case scenario, one just has to run with what one has at the time.

It seems you have found someone to do demolitions though.

Places like this tend to draw in remarkable people. Did you ever wonder why?

Places like this, have you been somewhere beyond this one?

Yes. And you know what conclusion I've come to? Places like this bring in remarkable people because one day you might just need them.

Or perhaps it's less calculated than that. If our heroes from our particular worlds can arrive, then so can the villains from many worlds.

And yet that doesn't disprove my point.

It really doesn't. Largely, knock on wood, even with space pirates and fairy nonsense, this has been less stressful than home.

But that might just be a symptom of my life in my home world and not particularly true for anyone else.

Or you made the mistake of reading your own books. I was warned against doing that.

Speaking as the Muggle, I can definitely say that it's always sensible.

Not an expert. Better at shooting given the background. I guess it can't hurt to learn new talents. Sirius might actually look surprised if he ever shows up. I'm sure I don't need to do anything new for your Sirius to be surprised, though.

I don't think it takes much to surprise him period.

You would be surprised. But then we've lived through zombies.

Once you've been through Zombies, I feel as if your surprise quotient may be thoroughly gone through.

On the other hand, you've now lived through zombies, and changing universes or whatever so.

I think it's certainly possible. Though, I am surprised by some things still.

I have, yes.

I would be lying if I said I was not surprised by this particular trek. At this point, however, I think I may have officially spent all of my surprise and there is little else that would.

Spent surprise does make for a mildly upsetting life.

Are you, though, or are you just saying it so you don't have to be disappointed when it's negative and upsetting?
