I've died four times. Five times? Something like that. I've come back each time, and twice I was gone for months. There are people in my world who wouldn't die if you burned them alive, or severed their spine. I'm not even sure they'd die if you decapitated them. They could probably have it reattached and be fine. Permanent isn't always permanent, and what classifies as permanent is going to be different for every world. There's always loopholes.
