Off to a running start.

I've worked out, conceptually at least, my old man's method. Alice and I have been putting our heads together to see if we can come up with a smoother approach with a science/magic combo. The situation in Paraguay has obviously diverted our attentions. But I think I may have worked out departures, if my read on the data this thing spit out at me today is right. Arrivals are another story.

Can I jump in on this part here? The arrivals part? Because the reason Natasha hired me was because I've been combining magic and tech and have my own version of an arrivals/departures system for people from my previous world.

Cause what I've found is that everyone from the my previous world shared a same...essence? I haven't figured out what to call it yet. Used some artifacts and jerry-rigged a system that's been working for me. It's how I knew my friend was gone.

Jump right in. The old system here was based on individual frequencies-- interpreting the electromagnetic forces at work when the portal is spitting people out or zapping them back to wherever they came from. For expediency's sake, I wanted to get the old version up and running, then work on improvements.

Prior to all this, I'd been exploring energy signatures as a possible avenue. Might fall in with your essence.

I only figured out individual departures because I cheated and injected my group with trackers. That way we always knew where one of us was. I could start storing individual essences, I just need a larger databank than what I have to work with right now.

But I think we can get arrivals down to at least the right universe - at least, the ones we have currently present right now. I can help get the old system you're working on running, if you want another pair of hands there. At least until we figure out something better.

	Smart, though I think ultimately unnecessary, big picture. It's easier to account for the disappearance of certain signatures or frequencies than account for their arrival. What's the point of a multiversal think tank if we don't take advantage of it? You familiar with the magical stylings of Julia Wicker, Alice Quinn, and their cohort? So what are we going to focus on first? I'm running searches for those names that popped up at the Paraguay portal, the ones that were infected with space pox, for Ianto, but that won't be taking up all of my time.

I am not. I'm not magical myself, I just know how to manipulate magical items from my world. I'm their keeper, a Librarian, so it's my duty to keep the objects safe and to keep them from falling into abusive hands. I tend to stay away from people with magical abilities, generally, so they don't get tempted to ask about the objects I'm keeping in the Library. I'm willing to work with them, just don't know much about them starting off.

Yes. I do a lot of my work outside of the Bureau, because of the limitations on my abilities, but I'll be there shortly. I look forward to meeting you.

	TBD. I wasn't overly fond of magic-types either until one of them became my partner in crime. After that power swap a few months, I've had an interest in seeking ways science and magic could intersect and complement each other. Alice's magic is actually pretty mathematical.
