He'd arrived long enough to find there was a room waiting for him. He half-wondered whether or not it had always been there or, if on the day he arrived, Percy and friends had woken up to find a new room that wasn't there before. Tumbleweed filled him with such questions. Still, his room was simple enough. It had everything that he needed: a bed, a desk, and... Well, that's all he needed. It's all most of them needed in Camp Jupiter. A soldier's life wasn't complicated by belongings or things. Rarely even people. A soldier's life was dedicated to victory and his fellow soldiers. There was a joke that the bond between fellow soldiers was often stronger than the bond between spouses. He wasn't entirely sure that was true. He had a sneaking suspicion it was borrowed from the Spartans who, well, made the Romans look like children playing dress up.
Once he was settled, gladius packed away, and whatever belongings he had with him (mostly a sweater, his wallet, and his shoes) stored, he explored the house and made the appropriate greetings. To whoever was awake, though. Never one for the spotlight, he shied from waking anyone or going out of his way to get someone's attention. It just wasn't his way. Eventually, he found himself stepping out into the back yard--his bare feet touching the grass. He wore his jeans, a muscle tee that he'd warn under his shirt, and stared up at the night sky. A sky that looked so similar to home. There was an emptiness he felt, though. What that was, though, he wasn't sure.
Eventually, he crept to the forge in search of Leo. When he finally found him, he leaned against the door frame and waited. His brow furrow. His eyes narrow. His arms crossed.
