[Peril & Echo]

Looks like we're boots on the ground in Russia this mission. Peril, we'll probably be relying on you for translation so I don't accidentally insult someone's mother. Other than that, we'll get an idea of what we're bringing to this at the Facility. Any questions?

Otlichno.

My Makarov should be sufficient, yes?

See? Already off to a good start.

You might want backup too. Nice weapon though.

I can probably borrow one of Gaby's small ones. They are easy to hide.

There's also going to be equipment at the Facility. Can't get what you're looking for, they'll probably have it.

I will keep this in mind, though I do like Gaby's gun, as I am already familiar with it.

That works. I'd rather have you comfortable with your weaponry.

Yes, that usually works better. What are you planning to bring?

Usual sidearm, backup, knife. Used to have my own small arsenal to choose from but that is sadly elsewhere these days.

I understand that. Knife is a good idea too...

Personally always keep one in my boot because there's more than a few situations where one comes in handy.

Yes. Fortunately, I am usually able to fend off someone with my bare hands.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of a good old brawl myself, fist to fist. It's been my experience that the types in this line of work, maybe you've seen the same, just really love their guns. Sometimes you need a ranged weapon, be it gun or knife.

Oh, I would not go into this completely unarmed, believe me.

I'd question the sanity of anyone who did in this situation and that's saying something coming out of me.

Speaking of translation, I wonder if the language I spoke with my people would be helpful for communicating covertly.

I like that idea a hell of a lot. We've got a long flight to Russia. That going to be enough to teach us a few things?

A few key phrases. Jim says he was talking to Lexa about it as well, she was the commander of my people.

It sounds worth pursuing. We'll be a little rough this go around but at least it'll have a good field test.

I've been told a lot of the words sound like slang from 100 years ago.

Which would be 2052.

You had me a little hopeful there that I might be ahead of the curve until you said 2052. I picked up some of the slang from my partner's teenagers but that was the 2018 version.
