Hello? Is this thing writing down everything I say? Oh wow that's so neat. I wonder how this thing works - oh god what the hell? No don't write that. I said don't write that! Stop. Stop!

Hello? My name is Keyleth. I don't know what's going on, but I'm looking for my friends. I think I might have stepped onto another plane, and I really didn't mean to do that. I'm guessing my spell didn't work. Uh can anyone hear me?

And if anyone heard that before - I'm sorry.

This device is a curious thing, and one that offers much ease. But not easy to master if one is unused to it. And yes, you are heard. Welcome, I am the Lady Sif, of Asgard. I too am used to walking different realms but no spell, or it's miscasting, brought you here. Tis said the portal does, although I think it has magic of it's own.

This thing reads things out to me when things are written. I understand writing on paper but not any of this. This stuff is way beyond me. Hello Lady Sif! I am Keyleth. That's really interesting because usually the portal is always my fault. This magic is so kind of dumb. I really don't get this thing they gave me to talk to everyone. And everyone is dressed funny and I don't know what to do.

Tis odd to get used to, but once used to tis easy enough. And yes, I have certainly known better magics myself. If you like I can come to where you are and offer explanation? this realm occasionally takes some getting used to.

Yes I can, but I only have pen and paper and not whatever this is. I don't understand it. I suppose, though it is - I am alone, and without my friends and I don't know how to handle that. I haven't been on my own in a long long time.

A phone? Is that what this is called? I've never heard of a phone before. Usually we write letters, sometimes we use magic to send messages to others. You could sense him? How so?

Yeh, a phone. You can call people on it, or write little letters. There's a calendar on it and I found some games too!

He was my dad. And I have a good sense of smell. Or maybe it was because he's the one who made me a werewolf.

Oh wow, that's cool. So you can talk to people instantly? We had these earrings that allowed us to talk to each other, but only if we were close by.

A werewolf?! No way! I met a werewolf once, he was pretty cool.

Magic is strange here, especially in regards to traveling between worlds or planes. However, it was likely not your own spell which brought you here.

And the technology is new to many of us. You seem to be getting the hang of it.

Do you have difficulty controlling your magic? Or is it a matter of lacking the education/training?

No, I've had plenty of both. Just sometimes magic has a mind of it's own. Usually what happens is that I think I'm being pretty clever in combat, and then I realize the spell I use wasn't the right one and I should have used another. It happens.

There are certainly ways in which magic can act on its own behalf, rather than the user's, without having a mind of its own. Believe me, when it truly has a mind of its own, it is much more dangerous than that.

It was the year 1819, and the worlds that I lived in were [...] more focused on magical advancement, except for one, but even that world did not have this technology yet. I suppose they might develop it later.
