Greetings everyone. It would be a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Most recently in my life, most people call me Breq, but I am also Justice of Toren. Please forgive the immediate discussion of business; however, I have some issues that need to be addressed.

Athoek Station, part of it, has arrived with me, and Station - its AI - is in need of more assistance than I can provide. The Botanical Gardens, recently repaired, will need regular work to maintain it. Given enough time, I can take care of the rest of Station. The Undergarden was mostly repaired, and I can fix what remains. However, living things cannot be ignored for so long. Unfortunately, having just arrived, I do not have local currency on a scale to pay anyone yet. I do have more than enough food, we grow our own, as well as tea and other options, pursuant to conversation and your needs.

While I could spend all my hours maintaining Station, and I will spend a good number of them doing just that, I am also interested in gaining paid employment. I have roughly two thousand years experience in the military, five years experience as civilian security, as well as experience in a multitude of jobs from janitorial to sewing to sports. I am fluent in more than sixty languages and learn new ones easily. If you have means and need for any of my skills or ones I could learn, I am interested in speaking with you.

Indeed, it is an effective message to send help to the community here. Thank you for suggesting it.

I have read some of the recent publicly posted messages, but I am interested in hearing what etiquette you know. Should I need to break them to ensure Station's health or something similarly urgent, I will apologize but do so. In lieu of such important matters, I would like to know how to be polite. It is better not to be ignorantly rude.

1. No vaguebooking. It's a cheap ploy for attention.

2. Do not humblebrag. It is unseemly.

3. Do not post unflattering photos of others.

4. Do not post photos of other people's children as it can be seen as a violation of a family's privacy.

5. Do not reveal big news to friends and family first. Posting wedding announcements, births, deaths and similar topics to social media first is considered very inconsiderate, even if it effiecient.

Hm, I think those are the main ones.

Most of those are understandable, including vaguebooking once it had been defined. I have searched for the definition of humblebrag. I believe I may confidently say I have done none of those errors with this post. I will keep them in mind for future posts.

I find these guidelines curious, as I have worked with people for whom making vague or polite conversation to obliquely or slowly lead to an important topic is the only way they are culturally comfortably discussing such matters. And I have known many to humblebrag, rudely and not.
