Apparently Koko the gorilla died. She was really famous for learning to communicate with scientists using a modified sign language of about a thousand words and how much she loved cats. Apparently she knew death happens when you get old (she was about five years past the life expectancy of a gorilla I think) and when they asked where gorillas go when they die she said "comfortable hole bye".

Marco had a gorilla morph but I never got one. I think I'd feel too weird. They're too much like people, really.

	I sometimes use a modified version of sign language. Never heard of an animal doing it, that's amazing. Have they taught others? You can turn into animals. Can you speak to them? Either when you're transformed or not? Or is it just appearance? (Reply to this) (Thread)

It's difficult because even though all animals have some intelligence and way to communicate, they don't think in the same way people do. Gorillas are really closely related to people though so they share some a lot of the same concepts. It's still a lot of work to teach a language that both sides can understand, but it's easier than it is for other smart animals like crows or octopuses that have really different brains as well as the physical limits like not having hands.

I think it's more like... I can talk to them, the same way if a dog turned into a person it could try to talk, but I don't know if I'd be able to say anything very intelligent, and I wouldn't know what they were saying back. I can talk telepathically to people when I'm in morph though. Probably to animals too, but they wouldn't understand what I was saying.

	That's too bad. I'd like to talk to my horse. I was turned into a wolf for some time a few years ago. I never came across any other wolves. So I don't know if they could understand me. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Yeah. It's just a little sad because she was so important for people understanding that animals have their own minds and lives. It's probably like when a famous person dies. (Reply to this) (Parent)
