We've been arguing over what trees to plant in Nesbit Park for two hours. I haven't, because they're fucking trees, but I'm ready for this meeting to be over.

WEASLEYS + ROSE RED, TONKS, JO HARVELLE:

So there's a tradition for Memorial Day to do a great big barbecue. I was thinking I could host one for all of us on May 28th around noon. Bring the kids. We have a pool, a big swing set, lots of outdoor seating.

In theory, if someone were to wish to put the money toward the concrete, there might be someone who could provide trees of whatever maturity you like for the cost of the seeds.

In theory, someone would have to donate those trees or put in the request to donate those trees to that specific park immediately. Then the funding would be open.

You might want to check the message from your new donor.

The new donor's raised a little tizzy around here. I may be working late tonight, but I'm going to get this shit done.

That's good to hear. Once things have calmed down, let me know what species you're interested in. Preferably ones that have an affinity for Texas.

Texas Ebony and Chitalpa. They want blooms, I'll give them blooms.

And the size? Preferably something that won't raise too many alarms.

Mid-size would work for replanting them in the area, I think. Chitalpa is fast growing, so I'm not too stressed about that.

And I appreciate this.

Let me take care of the planting. I just need some good soil and a few minutes uninterrupted.

By all means...

KURAMA:
Curious, do you do this kind of thing for private citizens who may wish to get a little bit more shade in time for a Memorial Day barbecue?

How extensive a change, and do you have neighbors likely to notice? A park is easy enough to explain away as new planting if I'm careful.

The Manor's set back a bit from the street. Neighbors generally leave us alone. I'd just like some shade trees in the backyard around the pool.

Simple enough. Something amenable to Texas, I assume.

I'd like them to look as if they fit in so yes, definitely. I'll make sure to get something hardy. This summer sun is brutal.

Give me a day or two. I'll collect what I need and stop by.

Do you have a ballpark figure on cost? I'd like to compensate you for your energy and time, and of course the seeds.

I'm happy to do it. I don't often have a chance to exercise my abilities in this manner in a world like this one.
