There was an election. Actually you did something called a kinkos and spread messages throughout Fillory telling everyone there would be an election and so Tick Pickwick was forced to hold one for High King.

No, Eliot and Tick Pickwick did. There was a write in campaign among the talking animals and apparently there are more of them than there are humans so you won. Humbledrum was very impressed with you.

Yes. Humbledrum was worried he wouldn't have Eliot's approval as Fray's [...] friend. You were very gracious and he is apparently a respected figure among the talking animal community.
