Is anyone else a little concerned that the people in town don't seem to have noticed all the changes, or the fact that we were gone for three months?

[Carol Danvers, Jessica Drew, Singularity]

Are you guys settling back in okay?

We have a house.

Jess went out voluntarily, and we have a house.

I'm so proud. Does it come with a yard? Because if so, you might be able to bribe my brother into mowing the grass.

It does, no pool though, that's a shame. But, backyard, driveway. We have a functioning kitchen.

I'm even in the process of securing a job.

That is a shame, but maybe you can have one installed in the future. Are you going to actually cook?

Wow, Carol. You really go all out, huh? (Kidding!)

There is a possibility. I'm going to try, I make no promises.

Well, money no long grows on trees, or electronically. And I have a young ward who really likes accessories.

Buy a meat thermometer, and don't burn down the house.

What kind of job are you looking into?

Fire alarms and sprinklers will be installed. I wonder if galaxy people get food poisoning.

Early Childhood care at EPS. Glorified nanny I think but it's something.

I wouldn't tempt it. And all three of you are of course invited to come over here for a meal anytime. With just me and Johnny here, it's already too quiet.

Interesting position for you. I'd say half of what you've done in your life probably qualifies you for the job.

I'm going to hold you to that when I accidentally chargrill our meal. I get the feeling being a guardian should involve more than ready meals.

I happen to feel similar. Between the Colonels and space idiots who think they're smart, I've got the time-out face down to an artform.

How're you and Johnny settling? Still in the Baxter Building?

It gets this maternal feeling an outlet that doesn't completely change things.

How's it going with Singularity?

I understand that, go from a bustling space station to a small town, the quiet is unnerving sometimes.

Really good, she's a little sweetie. I'm just glad she never got too badly hurt on the ship.

Except it's not so small anymore. Still not NYC levels of overcrowded, but it's larger than it was in January.

I'm glad.

I'm not really sure if anything has gone on for them. Like my professor was talking about the same lecture he gave right before we disappeared.

I smell alternate timeline. Or something.

An alternate timeline would make sense, but not completely. If the military at Fort Neill was killed off a decade or more ago, how would it be possible for us to have even been here to establish the lives that we're settling back into?

Every action we make makes an alternate reality. It's not the world we were in before, the same way we weren't in the Tumbleweed we started in after we went back to the past. It's the same world, just a different dimension. For all we know, this world depends on us being here to do anything. Or that these houses were here twenty years ago and a version of us was here then. We don't know until we look at the records.

There are times I really hate the multi-verse/alternate dimension thing.

It's super not fun, and it's hard to say. I think we all woke up here instead of coming through a portal like we did when we first got here.

That's how it felt to me, but since we didn't come from a portal this time around, does that mean we'll be staying here, or will we be sent back to the other Tumbleweed in a couple of weeks?

It was kind of hard for me to notice but if that's really the case, then that means I don't have to do grocery shopping after all.

It seems like everyone's leaning more towards a slightly alternate timeline.

Have I mentioned lately how much I dislike the multiverse?

Tell me about it. They don't remember us being gone, but we were. And time jumped, but they didn't notice and nothing spoiled in the fridge.

Because you know me so well.

We're in a world that's magically/sciencey three months ahead? Does that mean other You and Me are going to show up sometime?

Only all my life.
