So, this is the infamous Tumbleweed! I can't say it head been what I expected, but that could be because I never traveled to the states before. Tell me, is there a place here that one may be able to obtain an automobile or car for free of charge or a small fee? It doesn't necessarily have to be functional, see.

I don't supposed there's some form of Ministry of Magic, here, is there?

You could try a junkyard I suppose, but even absolute clangers are worth something in parts and scrap metal so you can probably keep on dreaming about getting anything for free. Welcome to bloody capitalism.

Sadly we have to work for our shit here. It's horrid.

Though the military did used to pay utilities. I wonder how that's going to work now.

The Ministry of Magic was the first thing I asked about when I arrived, too. Unfortunately, there isn't any, not in Britain, and no Magical Congress here, in the United States.

It is, since it means our Wizarding World isn't here either. It's only a tale in this universe (albeit a very popular one). No Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, or Hogwarts. The only Witches and Wizards are here, among us. There's a Fortescue's in town, but it's not the one we know run by Florean.

It's very sad.

We're still not free to be irresponsible. The military may no longer be functional in Tumbleweed, but I assume we'll still be following the rules that require us to keep our unusual abilities and backgrounds a secret from locals. Which when you think about it, isn't that much different from the International Statute of Secrecy.

If a law hasn't been revisited in 320 years and doesn't exist in this timeline, It can't be that essential.

Seeing that in this timeline, our Wizarding World does not exist, then it would make little sense for the law to be here, much less a Ministry of Magic to govern.

Nevertheless, that doesn't mean we can or should go flaunting our magic, super powers, pokemon, etc for the non-Displaced to see. It was essential enough for the military which was here before to require that of us, and I support it now, despite the official lack of the military's presence.
