I got this adorable lil one following me around the last three islands I've been to so I think we're gonna be calling him a member of the family.

I reckon he's a fan of the electromagnetic fields me and Anka Irene keep putting out. Ain't too sure what he's called though.

[Senior X-Men]

And alright. I need to admit that I'm a lil in over my head here and need suggestions on how to teach my daughter that she can't go creating or destroying whatever she would like to at the drop of a hat.

She seems to be picking up on the cues when I ain't all that happy that she decided to go making things outta thing air or disappearing things. But that kinda only works as an after the fact thing. Not a preventative one. Ten month olds ain't the easiest to try and reason with though.

Help?

That name does make a whole lotta sense. You keeping it, Ronan?

I got a puppy one, the key ones one that kinda looks like a snail/slug with tentacles, a cute pink one with a poof of hair and one that's kinda like a plant but got tentacles. Wanna trade for any of them?

And it makes music, too? So bizarre!

Because she's too young to understand language, the only idea I have is to ask Charles or Jean to psychically convey the message in a way her undeveloped brain can understand.

And pretty dang adorable.

If I gotta go the telepathic route I'd rather it be Betsy since she's dealt with Anka Irene on the astral plane multiple times. Considering she's got telepathy though I ain't too sure them doing it that way will be much of a deterrent.

Are you giving it a name? Her? Him?

[Filter]
If she's familiar with Betsy, then ja. She'd be more inclined to listen? Or better let, maybe Betsy can transfer your thoughts to her, because coming from her mother would be more effective?

It's worth a shot?

Oh yeah, definitely. I'm still thinking of what though. We'll see what sticks. How's your journey going, Kurt?

[Filter]
I mean the issue is she's already got a direct line to my thoughts and feelings. So it ain't so much that she needs my thoughts transferred to her. She's basically all want and need right now. I ain't sure when the whole right and wrong kinda thing starts kicking in. It's more I want this now and stopping others from hurting people she likes. Which I guess is a good thing until she decides to erase someone from existence because they like take her toy or something.

At ten months old I don't think she's capable of remembering even if she understands. Or at least, she might remember in theory, but in the moment? Children that young don't have any kind of self-control, not for a few more years. As horrible as it sounds I think blocking her ability to do it at all is probably the only realistic solution.

I'm kinda hoping to not block anything...also ain't all that sure how we'd go about doing so.

We've seen what can happen when adults have that kind of power. If I had an ability like that and my mother had chosen not to prevent me from haphazardly killing people when I was too young to know better, I would struggle not to hate her.

Though more realistically, I'd probably have killed her, too. Even the most precocious child rages against her parents at some point.

Yes and neither version of him is real happy about that idea in my hea but that's kinda a last resort thing. I'd like to see if'n there's a way to work with her on all of that first.

But I'm running outta ideas.

I get that. But it might be necessary at least in a limited capacity if she can affect living creatures and not just objects. She'll be entering her terrible twos soon enough.
