Scientific curiosity.

(I can't figure out how to edit it, so just imagine the first option lists both Mel Brooks as director and Cary Elwes as actor. No one cares who directed the cartoon fox.)

Is it true that people attracted to anthropomorphic animals are called "furries?"

Yes. And secretly about 52% of the people here qualify.

It's not a secret anymore.

Shh, some people haven't voted yet. Don't scare them off.

Very much so.

Actually I think it's just the people who dress up as anthropomorphic animals Dad.

I think it's both, but I've never really delved into the community to ask.

I've just been curious enough after hearing about them to look a little into them.

Maybe the ones who don't do the fursuit thing are just furry chasers.

That's not the same thing?

It's no where near the same thing as dressing up as an animal compared to being attracted to an animal.

I'm just asking questions, how am I supposed to learn what a furry is and isn't?

Totally different! And no one can agree exactly what makes you a furry. Some people are super strict about it and some people just think if you like anthro animals it counts. It doesn't even have to be a sex thing, sometimes people just like pretending to be a kitty. But hardly any furries are actually into real animals and the ones that are are just sick anyway.

Strict? Why are there so many rules?

I dunno, probably the same reason some people complain about "fake geek girls" because they think they aren't real geeks. They just don't like sharing their toys.
