Maybe the cruise ship is a part of the mystery.

Assuming we are still on the same Earth that Tumbleweed, Texas is on, there is nothing ordinary about this whole world. It's like there is something out there picking and choosing the best bits and making its own universe.

Clearly.

That is a very apt description. Given the stars and our distance traveled, it's doubtful that Texas as we know it exists on this planet. The question presently would be "for what end?"

As "for what end?" I'm not sure if I want to know at present. It intrigues me but I am also a little afraid I'll be disappointed with the answer.
