A shark is a fish. A cartilaginous fish, specifically an elasmobranch. And they don't think people taste very good. Unfortunately they also think people look a lot like seals, which taste delicious.

I'd try a napkin. Coasters usually have a water-resistant coating to prevent damage from spills.
