Comically tragic levels of over eating followed by insane overspending aside, you people are aware this entire thing is a total economic ploy, right?

Whatever. Enjoy your turkey murder day.

Counterpoint: pumpkin pie.

And I used a pumpkin left over from Halloween. That's thrifty.

Pumpkin everything kicks up in October. You cannot claim it's a by-product of turkey day.

I mean, you can literally make pumpkin pie whenever you want when they're in season.

It’s traditional. And last year I didn’t have any.

Trust me, I can see the whole economic ploy and I have no particular plan to contribute. Where I came from, if you had food for Thanksgiving you tended to be thankful, period.

But if you want to be grouchy, you can do that about almost anything, you don’t have to wait for an economic ploy for it.

It's ridiculous. Only once a year does anyone care about pumpkins.

Yeah, and a lot of my life has been like that too. And yet, other people seem to think it's perfectly okay to waste what would feed someone for a week.

Oh believe me, I know. Next week I'll be complaining about Christmas starting so freakin' early. I have something set up for the next eight weeks at least.

We should eat so seasonally with everything.

I don't plan on wasting anything - habit - but point taken.

Well at least you're a man with a plan.

The point of cycling crops is to do that, but the fact that people only want certain things at certain times mean that half of that produce is literally wasted.

I have a schedule, it will be adhered to.

I was thinking it was amazing that you could get anything here, year around, but then I decided that some things were better when they were in season anyway. I've been mostly trying to shop the Farmer's Market.

What about after Christmas. Do we yell about New Year's? Or is next up Valentine's Day?

If you're shopping for fresh produce, Farmers Markets are the only real way to actually support the supply chain without falling into the supermarkets and their schemes for consumerism.

New Year is just an excuse to get drunk, Valentine's is just a farce created by the card and candy company, Easter is another over indulgence and candy ploy. I can really go all year.

We're going to be in pie surplus for days.

I personally have no problem eating pie for breakfast: fruit and bread. That seems reasonable.

If it's really bad though, we could probably find some people in Tumbleweed who need it even worse than we do.

And heaping amounts of sugar. Can't forget that.

I figure we'll send some leftovers with people and then it won't feel too bad. But [...] at last count, I'm pretty sure we have six. And I'm still thinking about grabbing another just to be safe.

We could, but why would we want to?

Do they freeze?

I do not know.

Yes. So we can do that if we want.

There's our back-up plan. I think it's a solid one.
