FILTERED TO CHARLIE WEASLEY

Alright. Let's get this over with.

FILTERED TO NYMPHADORA TONKS
Hi.

I'm not exactly her Charlie anymore.

Couple times. Hasn't been around since Space.

I like James. Glad he's here and back again. And, yeah, we got to be selective about the muggles. If they are Displaced, it's fine. But regular old Texans? Mums the word. [...] Good for aggression. Hit enough of them and you get tickets. Buy little toys and such.

What?

That's not really her fault though is it?

Maybe he'll come back. I'd like to meet him. I haven't really sat down with Ginny yet, but I hope to. She seems pretty brill.

He seems like a good sort. I've heard the name and seen him about. He was at Longbottom's funeral, pretty certain, but I don't really know him well at home. [...] That sounds a lot more interesting than sitting in this house by myself.

I wondered, when Albus filtered down the date so easy. Mum was probably pregnant, just hadn't told us kids yet. I think I'm going to need a drink.

It's not. But right now it's like [...] trying to push a square peg through a round hole. [...] It's like she forgot I don't like being smothered.

He'll most likely come back. And then leave again. It's a damned cycle. It'll restart itself soon enough. [...] Ginny is amazing.

He is a good man. I'm hoping he sticks. He deserves this chance. This place is good for chances. When it isn't ripping people away, that is. [...] Just go to the damn Burrow, man.

[...] Fuck. Ronnie.

Yeah, I get that. Think she kinda just wanted to talk.

Is that why you're in such a strop? People come and go? Or is that unique to me?

I don't wan You know how you said you don't like being smothered? I'm used to a London flat and coming and going as I please, and bringing girls over as I please, and drinking and smoking without commentary. I'm not certain it'd be a good match. Plus - wouldn't it be weird?

Yeah [...] Sorry.

Maybe. [...] Not very good at that these days.

Part of it. And yeah, sorry, it's been a long line of things. Like I said, fucked this up last time. And you came at a bad time. [...] Trying to do better. Don't want to ruin Albus' thing Thursday so figured we best talk.

Shit. You are me. [...] I meant more to visit anyway. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to stay under the roof myself. But I'll do my best not to make it weird.

Yeah.

Yet, here we are, talking, and I don't think we've fucked it up yet, which considering I'm you, and you're me, and we are ourselves - might be a bloody miracle.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to ruin that either. In theory we can be in the same room and not cause a meltdown, yeah?

See, there was a reason to the initial question. Where are you moving? Or is that in the too invasive category?

Probably 'cause there isn't much in the way of envy here, I suspect. Not like last time.

I'd prefer if we manage to not cause a meltdown. I like to think of myself as civil most times. I've just not been my best self as of late. So yeah, let's avoid any scenes and be nice and proper for everyone. They deserve it.

Not going to say just yet. Not sure I'm going anywhere but [...] I do better when I'm not crowded. We'll see what happens.

You can't say shit like that without some explanation. And I wouldn't say there's no envy. You got Mum and Dad. So. I might be a little envious, and let's just say if you and I go up against each other as seekers and you win, you might want steer clear for a month or three.

I remember all of the manners Uncle Gideon tried to teach me, even if half the time I ignore them. My worst flaw is just not thinking. But I'll try to behave myself. It can't be worse than a Press conference.

Fair enough. Like I said I get that. Worst problem I've got right now is just boredom. I don't have practices to keep me busy.

It was a world where Tonks lived. It was something to be envious of. [...] Yeah, should have phrased that better. Sorry, man. Just meant [...] I miss Gideon and Fabian, so having them around sounds great, but I don't like the alternative of Mum and Dad being gone. Both are shit options.

I don't know how long I'm going to stick around anyway. Snow mentioned swinging by so I'll be doing that. But we'll manage civility.

Careful. This place has a way of making sure you aren't ever bored for long. And if we get sent to some 1700s pirate ship in the next day or two, I'm blaming you.

s'all right. The whole week has been mental, so I probably jumped where I shouldn't have. She mentioned something about that actually. Here's a cheerful thought for you - maybe there's some timeline out there where we don't all bloody die cause of a bunch of pureblood maniacs? I'd have thought that was a pipe dream a week ago, but it's seeming rather possible now.

I'd like to think that I'm not that hard to get on with, really. Which means you can't be that hard to get on with. We'll be fine. [...] Who's Snow?

But swords and pirates, and maybe sea monsters. Sea monsters. Tell me that has no appeal whatsoever.

There honestly probably is. Wouldn't it be nice if that was the one we were all actually from and this has all been a dream? [...] Delusional as it may be.

She's a friend.

Yeah, until we have to kill them for the survival of everyone. Because that's our luck.

I could think of worse delusions. Although, to be honest, I'm not going to think on it too hard, cause that means you and I end up in some sort of same body, same mind, one spirit thing - and that's a thought for when I've imbibed a lot more alcohol than I have currently.

I guess you get those if you stick around huh?

Are you always this much of a downer?

You need more? I can tell you where's it is hiding in the Burrow. We stashed it all away when Mum showed.

Mhm.

[...] Guess that is for you to decide.

I might not have the same touch for sneaking in and out under Mum's nose the rest of you have. I haven't had much practice in that regard. Still, thanks.

I guess I'll look forward to that part. This place feels small to me. I think I'm going to miss the general anonymity of London. Easier to have company and not get stuck with it.

Challenge accepted. I still think sea monsters would be wicked, for the record.

Ask George or Bill to help you. Or, worst case, talk to Jo.

London's too crowded. I don't like that many people. The town got bigger overnight, practically, and I'm one of the few who wished it'd have stayed the same.

I hope you keep thinking that.

Jo already hooked me up with beer at the Roadhouse. I could just go out.

I feel like girls in a town this small are going to want [...] more of a relationship. Maybe I'm wrong.

[...]

You said you were in a bad place before, yeah? I think getting pulled here kinda disrupted the funk I was in. It's weird being back at the cottage when I'd just asked Uncle Fabian to bring me all my stuff cause Gideon and I were fighting. Point being, I get shit happens. But I still don't think my opinion on sea monsters is going to change.
