Did you tell him?

Of course not.

I may implied taking care with his trust would be wise, and let him draw his own conclusions.

A technicality. You told him.

You discredit his detective skills and oversell your acting ones. You made several suspicious without any of my help.

Your detective skills aren't far behind...! I was myself the last time. I still am.

Do you do this often? Not that I care, mind you, but pretending to be human is boring, and the flight doesn't leave for another hour.

As the moment suits me. I gave up trying to be any one thing to please parents or anyone else. Very freeing, really. 10 stars out of 10. Would absolutely recommend.

[...] You're taking a flight home? Oh, Thor.

I'll keep that in mind. I suppose I can see the attraction.

... he wanted to take Mjolnir.

You do you. I mean, feigning being Father barely worked, anyway.

And I assume you haven't your own means of travel by magic? Ouch.

It worked perfectly well in Asgard, when I didn't have a puppy nipping at my heels.

I take it that you do.

Oh, come now. At the very minimum, I'm bearing down on 3 years of age. That surely puts me out of puppy years.

I do. ;)

Not you. Thor. And how, exactly, are you only three?

Of course you do.

A bit large for a puppy, isn't he? And you want a story which I've promised Thor for another day.

His brain is just about as developed as a dog's.

That promise was made to Thor, not to me.

If certain Avengers have their way, you may have many, many boring hours tucked away for safety. Their safety, that is.

A lifetime ago I would have felt the same as you. "Not Midgard!" "Live among them?"

You have a Thor who crossed the world to find you, and not because he wishes to see you crushed or humiliated in front of everyone. What a hardship.

A lifetime. At age three. Do tell, what do you consider a lifetime? Six months? A year?

Yes, such a wonderful, selfless sibling. Why, I do believe he abandoned me in the dungeons not so long ago. It's dizzying, keeping up with his moods.

I have some recollection of past lives, if you really must know.

The last time I saw my Thor, he pummeled me thoroughly while my best friend pleaded him to stop, called me a murderer in front of all of Asgard, and left me to be sentenced to exile from Asgard by my own Mother. I have not spoken to, nor seen him since. I begged his forgiveness and he turned his back on me.

I really must.

What a pair we make. Life imprisonment in isolation, or a life in exile, at the hands of so-called family.

I am not the Loki who grew up with the Thor of my world. He died some time ago. There was another reborn in his place. He died, as well. I am the Loki who survived.

Well, what did you expect? Every Loki's story follows the general premise of "Oops. Sorry, everyone. I'll do better next time."

What would you have done had I actually been Odin?

Magic. Clones are a problem for spiders. You won't stop asking me until you get answers, will you?

Likely yelled at you to stay out of my life and out of my way. [...] Father has his good moments, but his acceptance of me comes with conditions. I was sick and tired of sides. If Asgard wants to fight another million wars, it can do so without me.

You know what? Fine. For all Thor insists he would not lash out at me, who could say for certain?

There was an original Loki in my world. He knew he would meet his end one day, and so he tricked Hela into removing his name from the Book of Hel. The how and the why is hardly important, but that Loki met his end, and without Hela having any claim to him in the afterlife, he was free to be reborn. And so he was. Free of Asgard's pull, this new Loki roamed Midgard without ever thinking he was anything more than one than an orphan who needed to provide for himself.

Thor refused to give up the search for his brother, however. He found this new Loki and made him recall his true identity. [...] That Loki proved himself beloved by Asgard. Even those who doubted such a thing found in him a benevolent trickster.

This is his body. Technically. The original Loki knew he would not be reborn along with a new body. A copy was made. If the innocent Loki did not forfeit his life to that copy, then others would have suffered dearly.

You want to know how old I am? Maybe I'm as old as the moment the innocent Loki gave his life to save his brother. Maybe I'm as old as the copy who took his body over. Maybe I'm as old as the moment I was forced to pick which I wanted to be and decided that I was neither.

Still with me?

Thor would have been killed. And a good many others.

It was a cycle. You never really win unless you break the whole damn thing beyond repair. The price paid was beyond Thor's ability to forgive, unfortunately.

Blah, blah, blah. I am certain you can Google the gory details if you care to know them. I made my peace with what happened.

Thor has difficulty finding gratitude for a happy ending when that ending is not achieved to his standards.

Ours is a family often short on gratitude in general. I would love a chance to speak with my Thor again. Instead, I receive yours. He insists it matters none to him where I come from.

But does it matter to you? Historically, other Lokis and I do not play nice together.
