MILITARY

Hello! I'm Matt Holt, former science officer of the Galaxy Garrison in my home universe. I've been hired by the military here as a researcher - which basically means I'm going to attempt to invent all the technology we had in my world for analyzing portals like the one we're working with. And maybe once the tech is invented, we can start doing some actual research on the portal.

But anyway, just wanted to introduce myself since I'll be seeing you around and I'm not always great at remembering to speak to people when I get absorbed in research, so - hello!

The technology here is way beyond where it was for me at home - and even farther behind the tech that other species had in space. You should see the castle of lions, and Voltron!

I'm not sure how much tech is needed to answer your question, though. There are memory techniques that psychologists and hypnotists use. We could try to find someone who has some training in that. And for the how - well, that's the part I can try to answer, once I understand how the portal works a little better.

My home world was on the brink of advancements in flying, but we haven't anything remotely like a computer yet. Not in the sense of what this world has. Or, I'm assuming, what your world does.

If it helps correlate anything in your study, I would be willing to lend myself to the cause. I believe it would serve a good amount of people here if anyone was able to sort out any sort of answers about why and how we came to be here.

My world was doing pretty well, but oh man, so many of the space civilizations I've seen were way beyond us. I got spoiled by all their tech. I have no idea if what I want to do here is even possible with what I have to work with. But all inventions have to start somewhere.

My first priority is the portal. I'm going to try to build the scanners and other instruments I've gotten used to using on the rebel ships whenever we encounter something like this. But I could learn something by coming at it from the other end too. Looking at the beings that the portal has affected - including you. I have no idea what we're going to find, but that's the exciting part about it.
