Is it typical to go from one holiday to the next without so much as a break between them?

ANAKIN SKYWALKER:

Tell me about this Doctor Aphra? I've heard her name in certain circles, but never met her or had dealings with her. How did you meet her?
PADME AMIDALA:
We should go to dinner or do something soon. It's been a while.
LUKE SKYWALKER:
How are you feeling?

Gift giving is easier once you get to know a person better, and notice their likes and tastes.

I come from an institution where attachment to physical things was looked down upon. Sometimes, I still find myself struggling with allowing myself attachments.

What about useful physical things? Maybe not a fancy gadget, but a nice, warm pair of socks?

I'm Catholic, I understand how it is when your path makes you guilty. It's not easy to overcome.

The only objects I depend on and could never leave behind are my lightsabers. All else can be bought or traded for. I did have a holo of my Jedi Master practicing V formation. I used it for training for some time, but then I couldn't part with it.

I have read about Catholicism. I see a lot of similarities between the clergy of the faith and the Jedi.

No socks, then?

Anything can be bought or traded for, but if somebody gives something to you for free, it sure can come in handy and you can be grateful for that.

Or you could simply accept something as a token of the friendship you share.

Besides the guilt factor, what other similarities do you see?

Well, there's the whole no attachments thing.

Attachments are alright, if they're done in the right perspective.

Did I ever mention I was ordained as a Catholic priest for a while?

That was a Jedi tenement. Attachments lead to favoritism, which could cause a Jedi to act in ways unbecoming a Jedi. I was never very good at not forming attachments.

No. How did that happen?

It's a good thing that you realized that about yourself.

Well, it begun with seminary. Something happened, which changed my point of view on the world, and I thought - I'd always thought about becoming a priest. So I did.
